1. At once? Depends on the McDonald’s, and on how old you want the first ones up to be by the time your order can be completed.

   Some stores offer a 50-piece. At those, you could theoretically buy 99×50 + 99×20 + 99×10 + 99×6 + 99×4 McNuggets, 8,910, in one order, depending on which sizes they sell and whether the total price hits the register’s limit.

   However, they have to be cooked. A typical McDonald’s has four half-vats for fish and chicken. Scratch the one for fish, because it will make your nuggets taste awful. Scratch one other for other customers’ chicken, and you can cook two baskets of nuggets at a time dedicated to your order. Each basket can cook roughly 50 nuggets at a time, so two would be 100. So we need 90 runs. It’s been a while, but I believe they take just over four minutes to cook. Make it five, to allow for draining and dumping the cooked nuggets and reloading the baskets, time the fryer may also need to recover its temperature. 90×5=450 minutes, or 7.5 hours; that’s obviously not going to do! This also runs into the problem of how much stock they actually have in the freezer.

   Working the other way, then, in the half hour you might really be willing to wait, you could get 600 McNuggets.
